CHINA TRIP A ROUSING SUCCESS !!
A group of 18 individuals from the WDC/ MD area left for China on October 11, 2026. After a quick transfer from Beijng we arrived in Shanghai to meet up with Grand Master Gao Tie Niao and a few of his disciples. Shanghai is a beautiful and modern city where we were able to visit temples and pay repects to our kung fu ancestor Pei Xi Rong at his memorial there. We also began our training there in Bagua Neigong and the 22 Wudang Yuan Gong form.
Three days later we boarded a flight to Wudang Mountain where we continured training while enjoying the mountain air, views, and visiting temples at the bottom and top of this famous Taoist historical landmark.
The third leg of the trip brought us back to Beijing where we visited and enjoyed the company of the Beijing Bagua Zhang Association and the famous Chin Woo Martial Arts Association. Paul exchanged plaques with the Shanghai Chinese Wu Shu Federation, the Shanghai Bagua Zhang Association, the Chin Woo History Museum and the Beijing Museum of Bagua Zhang.
It was a challenging adventure where we visited various temples, martial art clubs and associations, Wudang Great Grand Master Pei’s memorial, Dong Hai Chuan’s (the popularizer of Bagua Zhang) memorial, Wudang Montain temples and attractions, Beijing martial associations, Tienamen Square, The Forbidden City and beautiful parks and other places of interest during our 2 week excursion. Training was interspersd throughout our movements and we enjoyed feasts daily throughout our travels. It was a great trip and the group remained motivated and excited throughout the journey.
A well deserved shout out must be given to Kristen Fang and Sifu George Harris for their translations and to Jeff Bandy for keeping our finances in order during the trip. GM Gao has invited us to return and we are considering of doing that in 2028.

8 OLD METHODS OF YANG TAI CHI
On November 21, 2026 from 12 noon to 4 PM Paul Ramos will present this workshop covering the traditional 8 Methods that are the basis of Yang style and was originally taught prior to learning the form. These exercises paired with the 5 steppings combine to form the original 13 postures from which Tai Chi Chuan is based. Few schools teach these methods in the current times but they were considered essential to understanding and applying the art. We will explore it from the perspectives of physical movement, Qigong, and martial application. The cost for the workshop is $100 in advance or $120 at the door. Prior knowledge is not necessary because these can be used as stand alone training. Reserve your spot now by calling 301 651-3617 or by emailing Sifu Paul at longmen987@gmail.com. It will take place at 3811 Nicholson Street in Hyattsvile at our studio there. Space is limited so reserve your place there before we reach our limit.
